Samsung Refrigerator C13 and C6 Error Repair in Littleton
A homeowner in Littleton contacted Denver Rapid Appliance Repair after their Samsung French-door refrigerator began displaying C13 and C6 error codes. Resetting the refrigerator did not solve the problem. The codes returned immediately, indicating that an active fault was still present.
Cody and Shane diagnosed the refrigerator and discovered that a wiring harness had been completely severed inside the refrigerator door. Because the damaged section was hidden inside the door, the visible wiring and connectors initially appeared normal.

Diagnosing the Samsung C13 and C6 Errors
Cody and Shane began by inspecting the wiring and connectors at the top of the refrigerator door. The visible connections appeared secure, but the C13 and C6 errors returned immediately whenever the refrigerator was reset.
Continuity testing showed that the electrical paths through the refrigerator door were interrupted. This indicated that the problem was hidden farther inside the door rather than at one of the visible connectors.
Finding the Hidden Wiring Damage
The affected wiring harness was carefully pulled out from inside the refrigerator door. It came out in two separate halves, revealing that the harness had been completely severed inside the door.
This hidden damage explained why the visible connections looked normal while the refrigerator continued displaying both error codes. The broken wires interrupted circuits between the components inside the door and the refrigerator’s electronic control system.
Tracing the Wiring to the Main Control Board
The affected circuits were traced back to the refrigerator’s main control board. Cody and Shane inspected the board connections and verified the proper position of the harness connectors.
This allowed us to confirm the complete electrical path and avoid replacing an expensive control board or sensor based only on the displayed error codes.
Repairing the Severed Door Harness
The corresponding wires from both halves of the severed harness were carefully matched and reconnected. Every connection was properly insulated and secured.
Continuity was then checked through each repaired wire and connector. After the initial wiring repair, the C6 error cleared, but the C13 error remained. Cody and Shane continued checking the connector positions and continuity through every affected circuit.
Once the wiring and connectors were correctly restored, continuity was confirmed throughout the harness.
Final Testing
The repaired harness was secured and routed back through the refrigerator door. The refrigerator was then reassembled, powered on and reset.
The stored errors were cleared through the refrigerator’s control system. Neither the C13 nor C6 error returned during final testing.
Diagnostic takeaway
An appliance error code is a diagnostic starting point, not an automatic reason to replace an expensive electronic component. In this case, finding the actual problem required continuity testing and removing the wiring harness from inside the refrigerator door.
Can Broken Door Wiring Cause Samsung Refrigerator Error Codes?
Yes. Wiring routed through a refrigerator door can become pinched, strained, fatigued or severed. Damaged wiring may interrupt circuits between the door components and the refrigerator’s electronic controls.
Some sections of a refrigerator-door harness are hidden inside the door. The visible connectors can look normal even when wiring farther inside the door is completely broken.
Not every Samsung C13 or C6 error is caused by damaged wiring. The correct diagnosis depends on the refrigerator model, symptoms, wiring condition and electrical test results.
